Vis template skeleton content
This page is a child of the Knowledge page.
Like all Wiki articles, this section should contain an introduction to the type of visualisation template that's being dealt with. This could be any of the 2017/18, 2019, 2020, or any templates that other new templates that come in the future. A discussion of how it compares to previous templates, what's different about it, why the new template was created, directions on where to install, etc, should all be visible on this page. Is the template outdated as of the time of writing? Is there anything in this template that can't be achieved in the newer templates?
Education focused design
What is this template useful for in particular? Is it useful for creating single page visualisations (2017-2018), is it better for creating longer visualisations that depend on their narrative (2019), is it capable of doing both, and better for drag/drop/click interactions (2020)? Why would someone pick this template if they were only thinking about the educational learning outcomes intended for their interactive teaching document? Why wouldn't they?
If a particular template has two feature classes, discuss here why they're useful from an education perspective, and then include a link to them. For example, in the Vue template (2020), the vue components are useful from an education perspective because they're able to give snippets of information in a 'well layered' way that allows you to focus on the more basis/fundamental concepts early on, before building on this with components that layer out on top of the visualisation. Another example is the 2019 template, you'd mention here that the narration structure is more suitable for those who'd want a longer "story-like" presentation of their matieral, and those who are looking to present their information in that structure should probaly consider using that template.
The "vis template feature class 1" link is a link to an skeleton example of the list of objects that can be considered under the same feature class of the template in question. For example, this could be "Vue components", for the Vue template, or "Panes", to link to the two types of sidepane (with and without a toggle).
This "vis template feature class 2" link is intentionally empty, and left as a placeholder.
Graphical and Artistic design
Is there any particular type of coding library that is easy to implement in this template that is intended to present material in a certain way? This could be for particular types of images, a type of graph, plotly/d3/etc. Why would someone who is only concerned about the graphical/visual representation of their material choose this template? Why wouldn't they?
Technical design/comments
How is this template implemented? How can someone get started with this template? Do they have to visit a website to install anything? Why would someone who is only thinking about the technical implementation of a visualisation (this can include difficulty/language/presets this template has already) consider using this template? Why wouldn't they?
What are the main technical features/need-to-knows of when using this template? For example, in the 2017-2018 template, the 2D plotting libraries were popular, and so if this were the 2017-2018 template, it would be useful to branch off into a section which was plotting libraries, as understood/used from the 2017-2018 template perspective. In the 2019 template, a lto
